Day 1: Hello Ho Chi Minh City!

Yayyyy!!! Been counting down to this holiday since forever.
Waiting for boarding at the gate to HCMC!

It was a slightly less than 2hr flight but I managed to catch 2 movies with a little help from fast forwarding.

Landed ourselves in Vietnam for the very first time ever. The air pollution is bad and the traffic is crazy!!
Literally held my breath a few times when the motorists came almost a few millimetres to hitting our grab car. Our hotel is in District 1, where all the main attractions and tourists are. It's about 7km from the airport, and costs us SGD $5-$6.

Checked in to our hotel at 4pm.
Our Panoramic room, Central Palace Hotel Saigon.

You say chio anot?
It's just next to the Reunification Palace.

Toilet is very spacious too.

Officially became a billionaire in Vietnam!

My first thing on the checklist was to go visit a rooftop bar near the city hall, but it was raining so heavily that we need a change of plan. Yes, we need to stay indoors and we took a grab car to Saigon Centre for dinner.

Random Vietnamese restaurant in the mall, Ngo Saigon Street Cafe. Ordered this green drink cuz it has a thumb up beside it on the menu.
Tastes like grass but kinda refreshing though.

Ordered pho, soft shell crab glass noodle, quail egg pancake, spring roll, saigon beer and grass drink.
This meal costs us 420,000VND [25sgd]

This cheese flavoured soft serve is out of this world!!!
We then shopped around in the mall. Apparently, their retail merchandise is not cheap if not, more expensive than SG. Last weather check at 7.30pm and there's still a light drizzle out there. We googled for a nearby cinema place and walked 600m to Vincom Centre.

It has a VinMart at B3 where you can get some supplies like mineral water and snacks for your late night hotel snacking. Rested at a ice cream joint while waiting for our show to start at 9.50pm

His Americano and my red milk tea.

Our movie, Hostile. Around SGD$15 for two tickets.
You just have to check and make sure the movie is not dubbed in Vietnamese before purchasing.
