bangkok terror

Yeah, once again managed to jio baoli for a short holiday... and this time we headed to BANGKOK via our favorite MR TIGER AIRWAYS!

Miss Tan Baoli booked the 6.30 MORNING FLIGHT and I was like zombie in the wonderland at 4 plus morning. We chose to take the cheap flight and cheap hotel so as to have more budget to shop and we thought we were very smart though :) YEAAAAH! But just read on.

As expected, we are totally shagged when we checked in to Baiyoke Boutique Hotel we hit the bed to recharge ourselves for an hour.. it's a super cheap hotel 2 nights cost around $60 per person. And the wholesales market is only 5min walking distance away. We reached there on a Sunday so the wholesales market area was like having war... The walking path is so narrow and there is like 2 way human traffic.. and got people selling fruits in the middle of the narrow path somemore!!! It was disastrous lah!!! We could even feel the oxygen depleting there, hardly can breathe lor. Really pity the kids having to stick their faces at people's butt all the time.

Some pictures of Baiyoke Boutique deluxe room, small and cosy but toilet leaking one

We hardly shop on the first day due to fatigue... we felt giddy so we went back to Baiyoke Boutique Hotel, and ordered room service :) because we really do not wish to experience the horrible battlefield downstairs. Everything went well, Baoli was soon "dead" on the bed and I locked the door, watch TV (FARENHEIT WAS ON TV!) with all the lights off.

It was around 8.45PM Thailand time. I was singing along with my Fei Lun Hai MV and suddenly somebody opened our door but couldn't push it all the way because I locked the chain door latch as well. That somebody ran away, as I heard running footsteps together with the jingling sound coming from a bunch of keys.

I was like stunned for a moment, got up and peeped through the opening.. I was afraid to open the door just in case that somebody was hiding behind the wall, waiting to attack me when I step out. I try to wake Baoli... "Baoli wake up!! Someone opened our door and ran away!!!!" There was no response from her so I shook her hard.. No response as well, she was like so dead. When she resurrected, we tried to analyze what happened and called the frontdesk to report this matter.

Nobody answered for the first time, and i dialed for the second time and a man picked up the phone. I asked for his name and told him what happened and he said he will check the CCTV and call me back. He took a long time, so we called the operator again. He said he is still checking the CCTV and asked us where is our key. "The key is with us, both of us are in the room and the key is in the room." Then the duty manager tried to further explain nonsense saying maybe some other guests opened our door accidentally. We were like so pissed off because he is treating us like retarded kids with no common sense. How the hell can other people's keys get access to our room? Are you saying my key can open my neighbour's door? I told him about the jingling noise I heard when that somebody ran away, and suspect the culprit may be a hotel staff. And guess what.. He mentioned only the housekeeping people holds the spare keys and maybe they are doing their housekeeping just now. Me and Baoli were like.. WHAT??? Housekeeping at 8.45PM? And why did he have to run away, he could just apologise right...

Baoli was super pissed and we were prepared to packed up our stuff and leave the bloody hotel. About an hour later, the stupid duty manager came to our room and said there was nothing found on CCTV and offered to let us view it. But both if us knew they already did something to the video lah.. How can they not detect anything, there is a CCTV just 3 steps away from our door! And how can the door open by itself???

We didn't want to make a din because we were in Thailand and not in our Singapore, who knows we might be found lying dead on the crossroad junction the next day. We topped up 4000baht and moved to Baiyoke Sky Hotel and the room is like WOO HOO! We gorged ourselves silly again with room service, trying to convince ourselves that we deserved this meal for all the trouble we had for the past hour. Our room was at the 65th floor and we had this magnificent night view of Pratunum. We captured tons of crazy pictures with Baoli's camera phone and we were back to our own selves again.

The night view from our room

Baiyoke Sky Hotel & FOOD!

Just see how fast we managed to recover from that shock

Mammoth says Hi from Bangkok!

We went to their revolving tower at the roof deck and it was so FUN! We were like crazy people, we totally unwind and I jio-ed Baoli to act like a Korean tourist by saying ahn-yan-ha-say-yo (hello) to everybody. Baoli was having a constipation so we went for this very crappy fruit court in the hotel for fruits buffet. It costs 150baht nett per person, mainly tropical fruits. You just have to pick and drop them in the basket and the staff will do all the peeling and cutting for you. And for the first time in my life, I ate 6 mangoes at 1 shot... SHIOK MAN! And they also provide hourly shuttle van service to Siam Paragon, which is walking distance to Siam City, The Central and MBK.

Brought some leftover longans from the fruit court for him

Super windy at the revolting tower... and ahn-yan-ha-say-yo

We were glad we moved out from that Baiyoke Boutique Hotel... OK, I need to unpack now.
