This is my favourite kueh :)

Yeah... Finally accomplished my first kueh salat after Rozi's mum taught me like 6 mths ago when I'm still back in Singapore!!

Thanks aunty for the recipe and also extra tips like covering the wok cover with cloth to prevent water from dripping into the custard during the steaming process. Mine didn't taste as nice as yours, but it is good enough for my standard lah. Will try to make this again and distribute to my dear neighbours :) HOHOHO... hopefully i will remember to add salt this time.

stuck in a moment

I went for my first cellgroup gathering just now. It's a all-girls cellgroup and i don't know anybody but was glad got warmed up very quickly during sharing session.

Went home, and started to reflect abit and i realised God had indeed taken good care of me all these while. I couldn't find a church here, because their services are held in swedish, and one fine day I got approached by a swedish lady outside my house inviting me to their church for a chinese service. 不会吧!?!? God actually prepared this for me? We went to check out the church later in the evening, which is like 5min drive away. There were only 5 chinese including us, and the rest were all swedish people. They were very well dressed in shirt, coat and tie.. And GW felt under-dressed in polo and jeans. We didn't go back to the church because this chinese service is like a one-time thing they wanted to test out and their future services will still be held in swedish.

But God's plan is really far more than we can imagine, He gave me cellgroup when i was feeling weak. Especially my grandfather's illness and recent heart attacks which caused him to rush in and out of hospital. He told my sister he misses me alot and asked where I am now though she already told him many times i am in sweden.. (old people cannot remember well) It hurts me alot and I wished i could be there for him. I was on msn with aloysius (cousin) just now, and he said gong gong asked if i've written any letter to him. Wah lau... Breaks my heart even more! Totally want to cry liao. I told myself, i must write a letter to him NOW! Use A3 size paper so can write bigger for him to read! I pray everynight for his recovery and salvation. I want my gong gong to be the healthy and happy-go-lucky old man he used to be.

I will never forget he's the one who always buy me 1 siewmai when fetching me home from kindergarten. When I was in primary 2, he sends me to the community centre for art lessons every week without fail. We always bugged him to sing the ALISAN song when he's busy reading the newpaper, and he will do it together with the dance. When he comes to my house for visits, he will bring me and my sister downstairs to eat chicken rice. THE WHOLE CHICKEN OK! It was such a luxury back then :) But as the years passed, the insights faded, we all got busy and the world seemed colder. I seldom visit gong gong except during family gathering like birthdays, chinese new years, christmas etc. And everytime i greeted him "GONG GONG!", just a simple gesture like that can keep him smiling whole day.

I really wished i could turn back time, because there are so many things i want to do for u, gong gong.

Video was cut abruptly, due to terrible singing and our rubbish cantonese.

it's a long long journey...

The 3hours drive to malmo! Heard stories of super chio chinese girls , chinese groceries stores, chinese restaurants, and big brands shopping outlets there make us all drool. Having stucked too long in this ulu town of karlskrona can cause constipation. So Malmo, here we come!
Okay, i know. No link. Whatever.

When gw was driving, i was hoping for an adventure to happen. Like a deer or moose crossing the road. And also cows, HORDES of cows crossing the road very very slowly because the grass is greener on the other side. And gw & alvin will have to get off and push the cows away. Haha, can't imagine i was so boliao to weave stupid illusions like that.

Alvin: 你没当过卧底, 你不知道...

We stepped into the dim sum restaurant ard 11am. We were like hungry lions starved for 3 years.
We ordered dim sum like there is no tomorrow.

this reminded me of Eddie's favourite quote: 吃給它死!!!!
Didn't take much pictures of Malmo town. It's like karlskrona, except 20 times bigger...

...and 20 times more people

open market at the square, alot of chinese groceries

Spent most of our money at this store. Bought tang yuan, chinese vegetables (yeah, no need to eat brocooli this week!) , dried longans, red dates & white fungus to cook cheng tng etc etc... and most importantly, they sell YEOS here!!!!

WE FOUND THE LONG TERM SOLUTION FOR OUR DEPLETING YEOS SUPPLY!

fun-to-hang-out people, totally crazy. And check out Seline's fingers. We have been doing alot of that pose ever since Wii Rockband happened. It just come naturally.

Did several hours of non-stop shopping because they have ALOT of shopping centres! And this is what we call shopping ok, forget about the pathetic 10min orchard road back in karlskrona. GW cannot tahan the walk, i secretly took a picture of him resting quietly at the stairways in the ZARA store.

MISSISSIPPI QUEEN!!! UP THE LORRY, ALL GO UP THE LORRY...

The wii rockband is super fun when crazy people let their powers combine! We rocked our socks off for hours, laughed like mad, sang like anyhow and did all the silly things like deploying a 4th player to do the auto bass for the drummer. But when alvin is doing the drumming, he needs to deploy 3 other players to help him... (yes, it's that bad.. and still can fail somemore)

And also not forgetting our team (seline, jeremy & me) won the rock-off challenge by 1 percent! MISSISSIPPI QUEEN!

i love road trips :)

45min scenic drive to Kostar, love the red autumn leaves on the trees.. Makes me happy :)

Kostar - the legendary warehouse for cheap winter wear & some other stuff

They have glass blowing demostration (we nvr visit) and also a very big store selling glass of all kinds. But not cheap leh, so we just see see look look nia.

GW favourite - fishing gears

shopping for winter wear and we saw this blazer selling at 300kr (less than 70+sgd)

GW said he can wear this to nivo to attract mei mei (KNS, BISH!!)

a candid shot which i thought was kinda sweet :)

happy childrens day everyone!

Childrens day reminds me of my primary school days (and sharity elephant if u know what is it). On this day, the teachers give you sweets & chocolates all nicely wrapped up. They sing & dance on the stage for you... they don't scold you even if u forgot to do your homework! Ok, i exagerrated.

Talking about childhood, I used to read alot of Enid Blyton series back in school because the teacher forced us to. And Sherin happened to have this neat collection of Enid Blyton books in her house, and my eyes sparkled when I saw "The Enchanted Wood"! I used to have a copy of "The Magic Faraway Tree" which was handed down by my xiaogu. I loved the story so much that I re-read it like a million times. The version I had was much thicker with more adventures and also their cousin Dick came to stay with them.

I totally so envy the kids who found the Enchanted Tree :)
Sometimes I wish I can climb to the very top and visit the land of take-what-you-want, land of magic medicines, land of presents blah blah blah.. I want to try the toffee shock and Silky's pop biscuits then slip down the slippery slip from Moonface's house.

Oh, i am digressing so much but I just can't help it.
