Day 6: Just eating and eating in Saigon

Was so tired the day before that we slept in till it's almost lunch time! Took a cab to Pizza 4P's [Le Thanh Ton outlet] and had to ask for directions a few times because the restaurant was hidden right at the end of an alley.

This restaurant has high ratings in Tripadvisor and when we got there, we managed to secure the last table for two without reservations. However we were given 1.5hr time limit (which is more than enough for us) as their place was fully booked. Everyone who came after us had to queue at their holding area.

Ambience was cosy, the waitresses were very welcoming and spoke English.

Their half-half pizza.
We had a hard choosing because they have so many kinds of pizza toppings. Decided to play safe and ordered mayo shrimp and salmon miso.

Smoked burrata bolognese
This seemed to be popular dish because every table had one.

The burettta cheese melted when mixed into the pasta, and had a light creamy smell that complements well with the bolognese.

I tell you, this place is crowded for a reason.
At first we were worried we couldn't finish this huge pizza but it was really so nice that we both just ate quietly till it's all gone.

Had to drop by L'usine [Le Thanh Ton outlet] for dessert since it's just around the corner.

Tummy was exploding but still went ahead with Lava Chocolate cake and Apple tart.

开动啦!

Apple tart.
Couldn't finish it, too sweet already!
But the caramelized ginger was very addictive.

Aiyo if only the ice cream can be of bigger scoop. It's so kelian 的 small.

Watched a Gold Class movie as we were too lazy to be walking around under the hot sun, and too full to eat anything!

Just nice it's dinner time when the movie ended. Walked to Secret Garden restaurant, which was also highly recommended online by travellers.

I have this thing for lanterns.

Already bustling with diners when we got there at 6.10pm

Mango salad
Clam seafood soup

Grilled beef

To be eaten together with vegetable, carrot stick, dried mango and pineapple.
It also came with a wasabi dipping sauce.

Baby pork ribs with Secret garden sauce

Vietnam, when the beer is the same price as soft drinks.

Not the cheapest restaurant around but definitely worth the mooleh.
We just randomly chose 4 dishes and all turned out to be above our expectations.
真的是太太太好吃了!!!

Went back to our hotel for a shower and then out again for a drink at the nearby coffee place, Trung Nguyen Coffee.

My Iced Kamquat and his Americano.
We had come to a conclusion that it's impossible to find bad coffee in Vietnam.
