Budapest and all the silly fun

After flying 1.5hr with wizzair + 40min wizzbus transfer to the center of Budapest, we are so happy to check in to our hotel around 6pm. Ezserbet Hotel is 3* and is located near the Ferenciek metro (200m away) in the Pest side, and is walking distance to many tourist attractions.

It got dark around 7pm and we went out for our first dinner in Budapest.

The Asian wok restaurant situated along Vaci Ut is a total tourist rip off.
Avoid at all costs.

We ordered their ala-carte kungpao chicken and king prawns.
They look and taste the same anyway. And the dishes doesn't come with plain rice, and it costs SGD2.10 per plate. We really got tok-ed liao.

After the dinner, we took a walk along the Danube river and went for a boat cruise with Legenda.
Costs ard SGD30 per person, includes an 1 hour boat tour along the river, a glass of champange plus an additional drink which you can choose from their bar.

It's like a glass boat where you can get a paranomic view of the river from the inside. It was afterall not a bad experience though I enjoyed the champagne and red wine more than the commentary.

Next morning.
We woke up super early to visit Szechenyi Bath, the largest medicinal bath in Europe.

We set up our tripod at the entrance and camwhored like mad.

That guy just stepped on a dog poo poo.

the jump shots

The graceful

ok I know I buang-ed this.

Woooo I'm flying!!!

Before stepping in to buy tickets, we came across this super complicated map of the place.

The interior.

Queuing up for the tickets.

Rare picture of Sherin stripping off her clothes

The outdoor pool! It's very beautiful!!!
It's like a super huge swimming pool in the palace.

The water temperature is perfect, around 32-34°C and is supplied by two thermal springs.

Sherin having fun in the pool full of senior citizens

Couldn't take much pictures in the pool.
The ziplock bag that contained my camera had a tiny hole on it and water keep seeping in :(

Then we went to their indoor thermal pools and continue doing stupid stuff.

The spastic backstroke

Inside the city park

And walked pass the Heroes Square

Cheap icecream!
SGD1 only.

The typical ice cream photo in front of the ice cream store.

We were craving for Jap food so lunch was at Planet Sushi, located near Oktogen metro.

We were their only customers in the restaurant

Their sushi taste okay but alittle too small for the price.

Sherin ordered some noodle dish (can't remember the name) and I had unagi don.

Itadakimasu!!!

The house of terror.

Central Market Hall, the most impressive and largest market in Budapest and is more than 100 years old.

At the ground level, you can find fresh fruits, vegetables and Hungarian produces.

Going up to the 2nd level for some food and souvenir shopping

Sherin's looking super disco-ish with that hair and sequins

Their lango is huge and very very very oily.

My ham and cheese lango, and the day ended with more shopping and a mad hot sauna face mask back in our hotel room.

On our last day in Budapest, we crossed the Széchenyi Chain bridge to check out the Buda sights.

Why is it called the Chain bridge?

Take the funicular to the top of the Castle Hill if you are lazy to climb

Yeah, we were lazy to even walk down the hill so we bought return tickets.

Ohh our turn came...

Inside the funicular, see.. very steep right!!!
How to climb?!?!?!

Reached the top.

The view from the top

And this is the Turul bird, a mythological bird from the myth of the Magyars

My Turul bird pose.

Sherin at the raven gate

Spot a Asian squat!!!

And we found something to buy!!!

Rabbit hats!
I bought the white one because I wanna be Xiaohua and Sherin is getting the Kuro one!

People stared at us as we walked around in those hats

Fishermen Bastion

Matthias Church

Headed straight to KFC after we descended from the Castle Hill

It's been 1 year since i last had KFC.
I MISS YOU KFC!!!!

I wasn't exaggerating.
This was exactly how I felt when I sink my teeth into the chicken.

After lunch, we went for the segwaytour.
The guide taught us a few tricks and let us practise on our segways til we were confident to start.
Here is us posing with the Buda Palace in the background (errr, and with a passing tram)

We started off from the Opera House to the Jewish Ghetto, then to Vaci Utca and the Danube River.
Here we were at St Stephen's Basillica.

Segwaying is fun and people do get curious when you segway pass them.

One of the best inventions ever.

Shall end the post with some pictures taken with our guide.
I think his name is Andras, sorry I'm not good at names.

Look ma, no hands!

Goodbye Budapest and it's also my one last trip with Sherin.
