Birthday dinner with family

My MIL told me she will be preparing something special to celebrate my birthday at dinner. 

She kept the dish a secret as it's meant to be a surprise. 

On the actual day she exclaimed,

SUPPLIES! LANCING CRAB!!! 

TIAO BU EH CHIM!

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!

So sweet of them because I mentioned before I wanted to try the rainbow cake from prima deli and they remembered!!!

Thank you for celebrating my birthday although Leah thought it was hers. Lol!!!

Free ice kachang on your birthday!

Lunch at ah dong restaurant after church. 

Their daily set lunch is really value for money, I ordered pineapple fried rice ($9.90++) comes with soup and ice cream dessert, and the portion is huge!

And you are entitled to a free DIY ice kachang when you dine on your birthday week!

Turning thirty-two

My birthday treat at sushi tei!

The hubby told me I can order anything I want and don't have to care about the $$$.

Awww... so sweet of him.

So I anyhow whacked a few items off the menu 意思意思 cause you know I'm a small eater. Hahahha!! 

(Can't believe I actually typed those words)

Ordered golden roll, phoenix roll, ebi tempura, grilled hotate, eel and splurged on a lobster sashimi. 

I was busy taking photos of the lobster from all angles while he cared only for his cha soba.

Then we went to check in to the platinum lounge at cathay cineleisure. First to reach!

This is our first atas movie as we felt the Cathay platinum suites and GV gold class prices $$$ are really crazy. But today, being a special occasion, we wanted to give ourselves a treat and went ahead to make bookings for the movie Martian by Matt Damon. 

We were given a menu and I ordered a glass of white wine ($16) to begin with. 

You can also order food to be served to you when the movie starts. GW ordered black coffee ($5) and we shared a signature platter $16 (calamari ring, potato wedges, chicken wings and some fish bites).

Couldn't take a decent photo in the cinema because it's SO dark and my pictures all look like @#)$*&!/&.

My platinum suite experience was such an enjoyable one that I'm afraid I might get hooked to it.

Thank you MIL for waking up at 7am to go marketing with GW for the BBQ food.

I always try to cut down on my decoration spending so I can dispose everything right after the party without feeling the pinch.

My colourful backdrop is made up of: 

1) Blue and green table sheets from spotlight for the sky and grass. $3.99 each.

2) Happy birthday Peppa banner $3 which Ah bee bought from Melbourne. 

3) Peppa pig family wall decals from Taobao $2.50

4) Clouds, Sun and House cut out from leftover construction papers. 

5) Leah name buntings from free online printables.

Peppa pig ears made from Daiso felt ($2) and headbands ($0.50 each) from a random accessory shop I stumbled across in Little India. 

The cute little piggy noses were done by my sister, she used pink paper cups and elastic bands.

Happy happy birthday to you, Leah!!!

Elliot was the most excited, and he actually took the effort to try out different props during the photo session.

Weeee!!! What a fun night hanging out with awesome people and I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for gracing this special occasion. Thank you for helping out at the decorations and setting up the BBQ so we could have the dinner started!!
